Opening night is here at Retama Park. September 3rd kicks off the 2010 Live Thoroughbred Meeting with nine exciting races and full fields of horses. Racing Secretary James Leatherman said, “It was gratifying to see the horsemen enter so many horses.” A total of 92 horses are entered for the nine race card Friday night. The finale Friday is a 14-horse field for maidens and looks promising for a big mutuel payoff. The eight-week meet runs every Friday and Saturday night thru October 23 with every Saturday night a Fifty Cent Saturday. Fifty Cent Saturday includes Free Admission for everyone, dramatically reduced concession prices and great free activities; pony rides, petting zoo, face painters and clowns.
